- THE 2025 CHRISTMAS QUILT CONTEST! -
Get those creative juices flowing because our fourth annual Christmas Quilt Contest is here! Grab a kit, create a Christmas quilt, and then enter it for a chance to win a dazzling prize. Are you up for the quilty challenge? Jump in, we’re going for a (sleigh) ride!
1.) Buy a 2025 Christmas Quilt Contest quilt kit. To get yours, click HERE. There are different variations available, but all kits contain a total of three yards of fabric - select the one that speaks to you!
2.) Using the fabrics from your kit, make a Christmas quilt.
- Each of the fabrics that are in your kit must be incorporated into the quilt. However, this does not mean that you have to use all three yards of the kit fabrics in your project — as long as you include at least a small section of each fabric in your quilt, your project will qualify as a contest entry. You can also add non-kit fabrics to your quilt.
- What should the Christmas quilt look like? Your imagination is the only limit! You can use a pattern to create your project or let the kit’s fabrics lead the way as you form your own design. Appliqué, curved piecing, traditional designs, modern palettes… any quilting technique can be featured. Your project can also be of any size; king quilts, table runners, or even wall hangings are welcomed.
3.) Finished quilts are due in-store (at either Bogart or Duluth) by Saturday, November 15. When you come in, we’ll snap pictures of your finished project. This will be your official entry into the contest.
4.) In early December, we’ll upload the quilt photos to our website. Fans will be able to see these quilts and vote for their favorites. Voting will close 1.5 weeks after the voting starts, and winners will be announced shortly afterward.
- Any additional materials that you need for your Christmas Quilt Contest project can be purchased at our store for 20% off. This includes batting and fabrics for the quilt top, backing, and binding.
- How should you quilt your project? Anything goes! Hand- or machine-quilted quilts are eligible to enter, as are projects that were quilted on a longarm by you or by a professional longarm service.
- Speaking of professional longarmers... are you looking for one? With professional results and careful attention to detail, Sheila of Thirty4Stitches is our preferred longarmer. For this contest, she’s offering 20% off to any quilter that uses her longarm services for their contest project. You have until November 1 to take advantage of this offer. For more information, please visit Thirty4Stitches.com.
- All contestants will be added to an email list; we'll send frequent contest reminders and important deadlines through these emails.
- Stop by our Open Studio hours every Friday to work on your contest quilt and get feedback from our staff and fellow sewists! We always have a tree-mendous time at our studio!
