BOGART: Quilted Mini Backpack - KIDS' SUMMER CAMPS 2026

In this intermediate-level camp, kids will create their very own quilted mini backpack using the beautiful Sunsetridge panel by Moda Fabrics. This isn’t just any backpack—it’s packed with personality and practical details, including a zippered opening, handy pockets, two carry handles, and adjustable straps. The panel includes several options for a design; kids can choose their favorite prints and customize their backpack their way for ultimate expression!

As they construct their bag, campers will level up their sewing skills by learning how to follow a pattern and tackle real-deal bagmaking techniques, including quilting fabric, installing a zipper, adding interfacing, attaching straps, and constructing a gusset.

By the end of camp, your child is going to walk away with a backpack that’s not only adorable, but totally functional. It’s the perfect size for stashing everyday essentials AND showing off their hard work and creativity. Don’t be surprised if they refuse to take it off!

Materials
All materials, including sewing machines, will be provided.

Experience Level
Sunsetridge Mini Backpack is an intermediate-level project, kids must have previous sewing experience to attend this camp.

Ages
We ask that campers be at least 11 years old or older, and they must have attended at least two sewing classes in our studio prior to attending this camp.

Kids that are younger than 11 years old will have a hard time keeping up with the camp's projects.

Additional Information
Please send a small sack lunch with your child every day. We’ll have a small break around noontime so that kids can eat and take a break from their projects.
