BOGART: My First Quilt - KIDS' SUMMER CAMPS 2026

In the My First Quilt camp, students will create a cozy, lap-sized quilt that measures approximately 30” W x 35” H. Providing comfort and peace, a quilt always warms up any occasion— movie nights, road trips, cheering by the sidelines at sports games, and more. As your child grows older, their first quilt will become a beloved keepsake that accompanies them through their many adventures. A sewing project can’t get any more special than that!

During this camp, campers will learn how to make a quilt from start to finish. We’ll get hands-on experience with the sewing machine (safely, of course!), choose intriguing fabrics that reflect your child’s interests, experiment with fun layout designs, practice those oh-so-satisfying precise seams, and explore different machine accessories that make quilting a little bit easier and a whole lot more exciting.

By the end of camp, kids won’t just leave with a finished quilt… they’ll walk away with real skills and confidence to keep sewing long after camp is over, whether at home or in future classes.

This camp is designed for everyone. Beginners will learn the fundamentals as they go, while more experienced sewists will enjoy creating a one-of-a-kind quilt unlike anything they’ve ever made.

Materials
All materials, including sewing machines,  are provided in the camp. Kids will receive:

• Charm Pack
• 1 yd of Fabric backing
• 1 yd Batting
• 3” Safety Pins

Ages
We ask that kids be at least 8 years old or older to attend this camp. Kids that are younger than 8 years old will have a hard time keeping up with the camp's projects.

Project Overview
This is a beginner-friendly project suitable for all experience levels.

Additional Information
Please send a small sack lunch with your child every day. We’ll have a small break around noontime so that kids can eat and take a break from their projects.
