Lessons With Kay
Hear any rock and roll? Kay is probably not far, and she’s likely jamming out to the music as she free-motion quilts another masterpiece on her longarm! Lively, joyful, and always with a bright smile on her face, Kay is a wonderful instructor who’s passionate about helping you on your sewing journey and making sure that you have what you need to succeed. As a woman of many talents, her main love is free-motion quilting, but she also enjoys sewing and embroidering a variety of creative projects.

You should book a private lesson with Kay if you…
Are interested in learning how to sew for the first time or want to try your hand in machine embroidery.

These are the lessons that she offers on a regular basis:

• Machine Familiarization - Do you have a sewing machine and want to learn how to use it? This is the lesson for you! Our instructor will teach you how to operate the machine safely, and will go over threading, winding a bobbin, changing needles, using the stitches, and more. At the end of the session, you'll practice your new sewing skills on a small project.

• Introduction To Embroidery - That embroidery machine in your house is a bit scary, isn't it? Not to worry, we can help you get over your fear! In this lesson, our instructor will teach you all of the embroidery basics. You'll discover how to hoop your stabilizer and fabric, align designs, determine which threads to use, operate the basic functions of the machine, and more.

Please note: When you book a lesson with Kay, you'll only be going over ONE one of these topics. 

What To Bring To Your Lesson

• Your machine
• Thread
• Power cord and foot pedal
• Machine instruction manual and accessories for the machine
• Thread, fabrics, stabilizer, and other supplies for the project 

Materials for any project that you make in a lesson are NOT included in the price, but they can be purchased at our store for 20% off. (Excludes machines.)

Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule your private lesson, you must give notice to your instructor, call our store, our send us an email to let us know that you will not be able to make it. You must do this at least 24 hours before the private lesson is scheduled to take place. We will not be able to issue a refund to no-shows, same-day cancellations, or to students that do not give a cancellation or rescheduling notice 24 hours before their appointment.
