Revolutionize Your Sewing: A Trunk Show And One-Day Event With Janome And The Sewing Revolution!

Well, you know, we can start it with rulers—The Sewing Revolution’s rulers, to be exact! We’re partnering with Janome and Kym Goldup—co-owner of The Sewing Revolution and its products—to bring you a special one-day event that is guaranteed to educate, inspire, and entertain!

With clever designs that feature defined measurements, slotted sections for cutting, calculated angles, and repositioning marks, The Sewing Revolution’s rulers offer ingenious solutions to your sewing. These rulers thrive when they’re helping you quilt, bringing precision to the job and keeping fabric waste low; as multi-purpose tools, they’re great for achieving perfect fussy cuts or cutting any-sized square, efficiently producing diagonal units, tilting squares at just the right angle, and squaring up blocks. By removing the difficulty that comes with precision sewing, the rulers from The Sewing Revolution will completely revolutionize your approaches to quilting and sewing, saving you time and effort all while honing your skills!

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll make a table runner using our fabulous Janome machines and rulers from The Sewing Revolution. The day will be packed with enriching education as you:

• Discover four Sewing Revolution rulers:
  • Mini Block Marker - Its center-point markings and slotted corners make it a great ally for fussy-cutting
  • Create-A-Tilt Ruler - Tilt squares or rectangles of any size with minimal fabric waste
  • Create-A-Trim Ruler - Works in conjunction with the Create-A-Tilt Ruler to square off the tilted blocks
  • Too Easy Ruler - Create chevrons or different-sized squares with full control of what will be in the center

• Become immersed with appliqué techniques and practice centering an appliqué design inside squares.
• Work on getting an impeccable double miter on your project.
• Master perfect piecing with a Janome machine! The machine’s wide array of quilting features were made for this—we’ll use the HP foot and plate to stitch the elusive 1/4” seam, take advantage of the 91 needle positions to get perfectly matched points, bust out the Open-Toed AcuFeed Flex foot for quilting in the ditch without puckers, and more.
• Make the most of your machine’s decorative stitches and see their practical side—they can be used in everyday projects, too!

Your table runner will be finished at the end of the workshop—it’s beautiful, and every time you use it, you’ll be reminded of the fun, lively day full of learning, sewing, and fellowship. What’s next? You’ll rush home, eager to apply everything that you absorbed during the unique instruction to all of your everyday projects; with your new Janome machine and the Sewing Revolution rulers, you’ll finally have the ability to take your projects to the next level!

Event Structure
This is a one-day workshop. We will host it twice, so you can come to the session that works best for your schedule:

Session A: Friday, October 24, from 9 AM to 5 PM
OR
Session B: Saturday, October 25, from 9 AM to 5 PM

Meet And Greet And Trunk Show: You can't miss the spirited Meet And Greet on Thursday, October 23, from 1 to 4 PM before the action starts on Friday and Saturday! Coming all the way from Australia, Kym’s got stories to tell! Promising good laughs and a captivating trunk show presentation, you’ll love listening to her creative chronicles as she shows off her quilts and demos products from The Sewing Revolution. We’ll only host this trunk show once, so students from both sewing sessions are welcome to come!

Materials

Project Supplies
All project materials will be provided. You’ll receive fabrics and notions to complete the table runner.* Each student will receive a pack of Sewing Revolution’s rulers for use during the workshop; you’ll be able to purchase them during the event if you want to permanently add them to your collection. (And trust us, you will!)

*We have a small amount of notions available for studio use, but there will be a wait time to use them. We highly recommend purchasing one of our notions kits during the workshop so that you can spend more time stitching and less time waiting!

Machines
As a try-and-buy event, machines will be provided.** If you're in the market for a new machine, this is THE event to be at as you'll be able to try Janome's best models -- the Continental M8, Continental M6, MC 9480, MC 9410 - and experience for yourself why they're beloved at our store and in the sewing world! Intuitive, user-friendly, and reliable, these machines are loaded with premium features like automatic pivot function, smooth sewing, an advanced feeding system, quality stitches, and extra-large throat areas. Janome's machines are the perfect complement to The Sewing Revolution rulers, and together, you'll be able to achieve ultimate in your projects.

**If you’ve never sewn on a Janome before, no worries — we’ll take some time at the beginning of each workshop to go over the machine’s features.

Refreshments
We’ll provide refreshments that you can enjoy during the middle of the day.

Eligibility
This is a try-and-buy event, and it is suitable for sewists and quilters that are serious about purchasing a new sewing machine. When you call to register, tell us what you're looking for in a new machine and we will do our best to pair you with the best fit during the event.

During the event, we’ll have special pricing on all of our featured Janome models and FREE bonus gifts with all machine purchases.

If you purchase an eligible sewing machine during the event, we will refund you the price of admission.

Skill-Level
Students must know how to sew and be comfortable with using a rotary cutter.
