Melody Memory Bear- Intermediate

Join us for this fun and memorable class!  These are adorable made with outgrown children’s clothing, or a perfect keepsake made out of a loved one’s favorite shirt.  The sample in the shop was made using four fat quarters of a new line I fell in love with.  We will learn about keeping small curved seams, clips and notches, circular sewing, hand sewing, embroidery, and stuffing correctly!  

This is suitable for advanced beginner/intermediate sewists due to the number of pieces, small seam allowances, and curves. Each participant will receive their own copy of the Funky Friends pattern which will be sure to be reused for many memory bears in the future!  During the class, we will walk you through each step adding our own tips and tricks and using the pattern maker’s visual guide (for the visual learners.) We will also give a quick overview of our shop machines for anyone who needs a refresher.  If you are more comfortable bringing your machine from home, that is fine, just remember to bring your cord and attachments! 

This is a one day 4 hour project class, so feel free to bring snacks or drinks, cushions, etc. to keep you comfy! 

PLEASE NOTE!!!!!
All pieces need to be cut out PRIOR to the class, as this step alone takes an hour or so! After registering, you can stop by the shop and pick up your pattern. I find it is best to keep each pattern piece pinned to its corresponding fabric pieces.   Please mark notches and letters.  This will help a LOT as we put them together! Also, be sure to make sure you bring all of your pieces, scraps, and pattern with you to class!! Scraps are a lifesaver if something got cut the wrong way.  Feel free to call the shop if you have questions regarding the instructions on cutting. :)

*Pattern piece notes:  knit fabrics need to be interfaced.  SF 101 or a lightweight iron on interfacing will work. Woven fabrics like quilting cottons or dress shirts are fine on their own if they are not too thin or flowy. 
*Supplies note: Safety eyes are optional (not provided) and may be needed if you are planning on young children playing with the bear. 

Fabric is not included in the price of the class.  It is 20% off if you purchase at the shop.
