BOGART: Collage Quilting Series - Vintage Machine
Are you ready for our next collage quilt project? This year we are doing a series of collage quilting once every few months. It is a great way to learn a new technique and make a fun wall hanging or pillow cover.
Collage quilting has become a favorite around the shop and is such a forgiving technique. In this class, you will learn how to create a collage background and learn the use of value in layering your fabrics to reach your desired outcome. We will introduce you to interfacing and fusible materials.
Your finished project will be approximately 16" x 20", perfect for a small wall hanging or a fun decorative pillow. We will discuss different finishing options for your new collage project during the class.
In this class, you will receive a kit that contains all of the materials that you need for the class. The pattern can be purchased at a discount ($20) for participants who do not already have the pattern. It contains 3 separate collage patterns (vintage sewing machine, tomato pin cushion and dress form).
No need to use a 1/4" seam allowance and no need for precision cutting.
Materials (included in kit and price of class):
various fabrics for the entire project
heat n bond lite
lightweight sew in interfacing
**Please note that the pattern is NOT included in the price of the class. If you don't have it already, we have one for you for $20.
If you have scissors with a 4" blade, you can bring those with you. We will have all other items available for your studio use.
You are welcome to bring snacks and/or a lunch.
