Welcome back, stitchers! 

This semester, we are back with ad exciting new challenge! Over the course of the series’ four classes, students will explore a wide variety of sewing principles as they make a one of kind patchwork tote bag, complete with a matching luggage tag! 

As always, each meeting of this group will focus on skill mastery, so that participants can expand their sewing knowledge while having fun! This semester, students will

· Make a pleasing design for the outside of the bag using the charm squares

· Label rows to take to the machine to sew

· Sew squares together to form each row using a ¼ in seam allowance

· Press rows to facilitate nesting of rows to achieve matching points

· Iron front and back pieces to fusible fleece

· Quilt outer bag

· Sew inner lining of bag

· Box the corners of the bag

· Construct handles

· Use left over charm squares to make a luggage tag for the bag

In order to participate in this course, students should have a thorough knowledge of how to use a sewing machine to include threading the machine, winding a bobbin, operating the machine safely, and sewing a consistent straight line.
