Homeschool Wednesdays Spring 2024 | Ms. Mary's Best Beginners: Learning to Sew and Create

Calling all creative kids!

Our well-loved homeschool series is back and and better than ever! This Spring, we have a semester full of fun make & take projects designed to introduce beginning sewists to new ideas and concepts and keep experienced makers on their toes!

Our Best Beginners class is designed for sewists ages 7 and up with any level of experience! Students who have no experience using a sewing machine independently, or haven't taken a class with us before are welcome here in this class. All participants will learn to safely operate a sewing machine and sewing tools, create fun crafts, and problem solve creatively!

Over the course of the semester, this group will meet every other week and complete one of a kind functional art projects that reflect their personality as well as the skills they are acquiring in class! This program will require students to follow written and verbal directions as well as allow them to work from their own creative wells to make useful projects that they will love! Every meeting of our homeschool groups has been designed to teach or reinforce a topic through the practical application. This means that while your student may be bringing home one project, they are building a library of sewing knowledge. A brief overview of this semester's Best Beginners curriculum can be seen below.
