Each class in the Play & Make series is designed to teach your child how to sew as they create a fun project. If your child has never sewn before, this series serves as the perfect starting point. In each class, our instructor will teach kids all of the sewing basics: how to operate a sewing machine safely, how to begin sewing using the straight stitch, and how to start and finish a project. The projects that we'll make in this class are suitable for everyone, girls and boys alike. Additionally, these projects are beginner-friendly and highly customizable, and kids can continue to make the projects at home for all of their friends and family. It's going to be a lot of fun!
In September, we will be making a handheld card holder. Kids will get to choose two fat quarters and then learn how to sew and construct a pocketed square. If there's extra time during the class, they can embellish their case or play with scraps to their hearts' desire.
Sewing Experience: None; No previous sewing experience is required to attend this class.
Ages: This series is suitable for kids ages 7 and older.
Materials: We will provide all materials (fabrics, sewing machines, and notions.)
