Intermediate Apparel: Hovea Quilt Coat - Two Part Class

We have added another Hovea class for those who missed out last fall!  We learned a lot the past few years of offering this wonderful class and are old pros now.  They are that lovely, comfy, and beautiful.  

This will be a two part class, four hours each and will include your own copy of the paper pattern :) We have the size 0-20 pattern and the plus size pattern.  There will be homework in between, but if you do not have a machine, you are welcome to sew at the shop as long as we do not have another class going on.  We are leaving two weeks between classes this time so that everyone has time to piece their fabrics (IF you are piecing.) 

Some sewing experience is required so we can spend our time making sure we get a good fit and a nice finished garment.  In the first class, we will be going over the pattern, finding the correct size, cutting, basting, and fitting your LINING.  Please have at least your lining fabric picked out and washed for the first class.  (Sizing chart/fabric requirements below.)  Materials purchased at our shop will be 20% off for the class. 

Your homework for the following two weeks will be to make your exterior pieces.  You can do a solid fabric, piece scraps together, or use a quilt top you already have!  We will have an inspiration chat during the first class.  When you return for the second class, we will be finishing quilting the pieces (if desired), assembling the jacket, and binding.  There are so many options for this coat.  Solid and quilted, short, long, pieced, or you can even use a finished quilt without a liner.  If you choose this option and are not sure of sizing, you will need to bring a sheet or scrap fabric to make your trial muslin out of so we can check sizing before cutting your quilt.  This option also has very little homework ;)
