Serger Class: Beginner: Sewing with knits on a serger, the Anything But Basic T-Shirt/dress in any size.
This is a great and versatile pattern aptly named the Anything But Basic Tee from the do it better yourself club :) . Tee's are a perfect introduction to using a serger and we will walk you through using them and working with stretch fabrics like knits. They are super forgiving and the sergers make the sewing almost easier than the cutting...really! This is a great class for older beginners, or youngsters who have had a little sewing machine experience already.

ABB TEE. In the interest of making the most of our time in class, if anyone is familiar and able to print out their own pdf pattern and tape it together pre-class, that would be a huge help! Otherwise, we will have ones to trace in your size :)
The best way to get a good fit with knits is to pre-wash your fabrics before cutting. They tend to shrink a good bit. We have tons of great knits in stock in the shop that you get 20% off for class projects! We can also measure you before you buy to help get a jump on the cutting portion of the class..we want to get to serging, right? You are also welcome to bring your own stretch fabric and we look forward to seeing you in our new space soon!
