Christmas Quilt Contest Rules

Eligibility

The Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest is open to Sew Sew Studio customers who purchase and use the official contest fabric kit.

Each entry must include at least a small amount of each fabric included in the official contest kit.

One Entry Per Project

Each project may be submitted one time. Duplicate submissions of the same project will not be accepted.

Entrants will select one main contest category during submission. Please choose the category that best describes your project type or the main quilt technique used in your entry.

Main Contest Categories

Each entry must be submitted into one of the following main contest categories:

• Best Table Runner or Table Topper
• Best Christmas Stocking or Tree Skirt
• Best Traditionally Pieced Quilt
• Best Paper-Pieced Quilt
• Best Appliqué Quilt
• Best Mixed Technique Quilt

Category Descriptions

Best Table Runner or Table Topper

For table runners, table toppers, centerpiece mats, or similar quilted holiday table décor.

Best Christmas Stocking or Tree Skirt

For Christmas stockings, tree skirts, or similar quilted Christmas décor items.

Best Traditionally Pieced Quilt

For quilts where the main construction is standard piecing, such as blocks, rows, borders, half-square triangles, strips, squares, or similar pieced designs.

Best Paper-Pieced Quilt

For quilts where the main design is made with foundation paper piecing or English paper piecing.

Best Appliqué Quilt

For quilts where appliqué is the main visual feature.

Best Mixed Technique Quilt

For quilts that combine multiple major techniques, such as piecing plus appliqué, paper piecing plus embroidery, piecing plus decorative stitching, or another combination of techniques.

Additional Award Eligibility

Entrants may indicate whether the entry was made by a youth quilter. Youth entries will automatically be eligible for:

Entrants may also indicate whether this is their first time entering the Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest. First-time entrants will automatically be eligible for:

• Best First-Time Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest Entry

Special Recognition Awards

All entries are also automatically eligible for the following Special Recognition Awards:

Photo Submission Requirements

Entries must be submitted online using the official Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest submission form.

Entrants will be asked to upload clear photos of their completed project. Photos should show the full project and may also include close-up details of quilting, piecing, appliqué, embroidery, embellishment, or other special features.

By submitting photos, entrants give Sew Sew Studio permission to display the photos on the Sew Sew Studio website, social media pages, email newsletters, and other promotional materials related to the contest.

Anonymous Entries

The Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest is an anonymous contest. Entries will be displayed for voting without entrant names or identifying information.

Please make sure your submitted photos show only the project itself. People, faces, name labels, business names, watermarks, social media handles, personalized tags, or any other identifying information should not appear in the photographs.

Customer Voting

Winners will be selected by customer voting on the Sew Sew Studio website.

Each voter may cast:

• One vote per main contest category
• One vote for Best Youth Quilt
• One vote for Best First-Time Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest Entry
• One vote for Most Whimsical
• One vote for Most Nostalgic
• One vote for Most Merry & Bright
• One vote for Best in Show

Award Limit

Each entry may win a maximum of two awards total: one main category award and one additional award.

Additional awards include Best Youth Quilt, Best First-Time Sew Sew Studio Christmas Quilt Contest Entry, and all Special Recognition Awards.

If an entry receives the highest number of votes in more than one additional award category, the entry will receive the award with the highest vote total, and the next highest vote-getter in the other category will receive that award.

Contest Integrity

Sew Sew Studio reserves the right to review submissions for category accuracy, eligibility, photo clarity, and compliance with contest rules.

Sew Sew Studio may move an entry to a more appropriate category if needed or contact the entrant for clarification before voting begins.

Submissions that do not follow the contest rules may be removed from the contest.
